Do you have a WHY that drive's you?

Apr 22, 2026

Why would someone willingly jump out of a perfectly good airplane… knowing the mission could cost them their life?

It’s not about the money.
It’s not about recognition.

It’s about belief.

They believe in something bigger than themselves—and that belief drives them to act with courage, commitment, and clarity.

That’s the power of a WHY.

The Difference Between Existing and Living with Purpose

Too many leaders go through the motions.

They show up.
They check boxes.
They manage tasks.

But they never truly lead.

Why?

Because they don’t have a strong WHY.

When you lack a WHY, you drift.
You react instead of lead.
You settle instead of grow.

But when your WHY is clear, everything changes.

You become intentional.
You become focused.
You become driven by something deeper than the moment.

Strong Whys Create Strong Leaders

Andy Warhol once said, My why is not to live forever, but to create something that will.”

Steve Jobs believed in “making a dent in the universe.”

Those aren’t just statements.
They’re anchors.

A strong WHY grounds you when things get difficult.
It pushes you when motivation fades.
It reminds you why the work matters.

Without it, you’ll never fully reach your potential.

The Three Drivers of Leadership

If you want to grow as a leader, you need three things working together:

  • Your WHY gives you a reason
  • Your purpose gives you meaning
  • Your mindset gives you the cause

When those align, your leadership becomes powerful.

You stop leading for yourself—and start leading for something greater.

Living Life On Purpose

Here’s what I’ve learned:

When people live life with purpose, they’re better.
When they live life on purpose, they’re better.
When they live life purposefully, they’re better.

Why?

Because they’re always working toward something bigger than themselves.

They don’t just react to life—they create impact through it.

So… What’s Your WHY?

Not the easy answer.
Not the surface-level response.

Your real WHY.

The one that drives you when no one is watching.
The one that keeps you going when things get hard.
The one that reminds you that what you do matters.

Because leadership isn’t about position.
It’s not about authority.

It’s about impact.

And your WHY is what determines how far that impact goes.

Final Thought

Don’t just show up this week.

Show up with purpose.
Lead with intention.
And most importantly—lead with your WHY.
